These speakers get very loud. You will need rca outputs or a 3.5 mm jack though to get the sound from any device. If you only have an hdmi out then google "hdmi audio extractor", I used one on my Samsung. However, if he is 97 years old they might not be your best bet since the volume is adjusted with a knob on the front of one of the speakers. NO REMOTE. I love these but would suggest a simple sound bar with remote if you are just looking to up the volume/quality of sound, and so he doesn't have to get up or wait for someone to raise or lower the volume.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should work fine. Has its own built-in amplifier which is much more powerful than the one in most TV sets. I plugged the speaker input (typical 3.5 mm cable) into TV's headphone jack. Set volume using the Logitech speakers' control knob, and then fine tune desired volume using the remote. You can make it loud enough to easily hear all over the house, and next door too! Or you can set the Logitech volume knob low enough to keep volume at a reasonable level, no matter how loud you set the TV's remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, these will do exactly what you need based on your question. They are THX certified, so they process the sound and "center" the voices for the movies/TV just fine. Your Dad will definitely be able to hear the TV better, as they get pretty loud.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used these speakers for 2yrs on my 70 inch Sharp Aquos TV (2012 model). Not sure if that helps. What helped with mine was that my TV also came with auxiliary output so it used it to connect to the speakers and it worked great. It was my Home Theater speakers for 2 yrs, till i had enough money to replace it with Polk soundbar set which came with Optical input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem and just cut a cardboard tp roll in half lengthwise and taped them to the speakers facing me. hope this helps
