I should think so. I'm using the monopod with a Nikon D7100, which is similar in size and weight, and shooting with a 80mm-200mm zoom. You might also consider getting a ball head to use with the monopod, and it will provide additional flexibility in positioning the monopod at different angles while keeping the camera level relative to the ground.
