• Hi Kimba, thanks for your question. Marshall measures the volume levels of a speaker by its SPL rating: It is the sound level (volume/pressure) reproduced by a speaker, usually measured one (1) meter in front of the speaker. The Middleton's SPL rating is 87 dB SPL @ 1 m. The Middleton speaker is not lacking in volume, we recommend trying one, you will not be disappointed.
