• The unit should already come with the fill hose. You only have to buy the cold/hot water hoses

• Yes, nothing else is like a water leak on your flooring of any type. damage happens fast and cost a lot of money to repair. My hose was not that old but it is not worth a problem so I always get new hose for refrigerator and washer.
