Hi, when I purchased this washer, I was told, that although the manual says to use much more degergent, you're only supposed to use maximum, 1 to 2 Tablespoons of detergent. I measured the first time, and now I just pour in the amount that it seemed to me when I measured. The cloths come out very clean, so you don't need to worry that it's using less detergent. Also, I was told that too much detergent can clog up the machine. (And I saw this happen, before I was told not to follow the manual, in regard to how much detergent to put in.) So, I would say that your cloths are scratchy, because there is residue detergent left in them. Hope this helps. (And with Maytag washer model MHW6630HW, you do need to put in detergent each time.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had front loaders for nearly 20 years. Is your water hard or soft? How dirty, particularly greasy dirt? You use much less detergent than the suggested amount. It should be HE to use close to the lines in your washing machine. Before HE detergents, I used about half. I now I use a pod and I always do the additional rinse. It is a great machine, you will love it when you get used to it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Really? You need to read the instructions on the label of the DETERGENT. Most of the time, I’m just covering the bottom of the cup.
