I have this Maytag washer and I have not encountered any filters in the washer or the door.  The filter may be underneath the washer or in the back?

To my understanding it is not easily available. You would have to remove a whole panel and its just too much. I have a 5 year warranty so I would just call a technician when it fails to drain the water correctly. Not sure why maytag would do with this design for the average non handy customer( myself included). Hope the answer helps.
