When you purchase McAfee and your subscription expires, we continue to protect you with the version you had installed at the time your subscription expires. However, we have a staff of engineers who spend their entire time looking for threats and finding ways to counter them. They find on average 8 new threats that have never been seen before every second of every day. We are constantly updating our software to protect against the latest threats that have emerged. If you do not purchase a renewal, you will no longer receive these updates and will be vulnerable. It costs a lot of money to continually stay ahead of the bad guys and the renewals pay for that. So you can have a base level of protection for a one-time purchase, but that protection will become less and less secure the longer you stay at the older version level. We do not recommend this. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I post on my calendar to review 45 days before expiration. You can cancel the subscription at the end of 1 year. The review gives me a chance to decide to cancel or not if I am unhappy with the service. Some software require a 30 day notice to cancel at the end of the one year subscription. I also check my account to "do not automatic renew".

This is my personal experience. Most of the software’s you will have to renew. If you are renewing for more than a year, you will get a discount.
