“Question: 1) How do I best manage the machine. If I turn it off at night, then the next morning when I push the "record" button. It says there is no USB found even though the USB drive is in the machine. How to fix this? Thank you.”

• I am guessing you are turning it off with the power switch on the box. Try turning it off on the remote, which places the box in standby mode.

• Just pull the stick out and reinstall. It may not have been in well enough. I experienced this and once reinstalled had no reoccurrance.
