Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on your configuration. This is a system-of-systems assembly challenge. If you configure through the TOSLINK- you can have both audio paths running concurrently. If you connect through the headphone jack- that generally will be either/or- not both. If you connect through the RCA (coax), where its the host's pre-amplifier out, feeding then to a separate control and power amp/integrated amp- again...it can be concurrent operation. A few circuit designs have noise floor issues where the manufacturer will leave the coax inputs shunted until user swings them on into the circuit. Then quiescing the host control/power amplifier section. TOSLINK is a PCM stream that is isolated from the native circuitry of the host device.
