We have a two story, 3000 sq ft house. I put one beacon in the downstairs master suite and one upstairs. Works just fine.

Please try again later.i bought the 3 piece system so I could cover the front of the garage and the back lanai and it's worked well. 2300sq ft house, typical in Florida the garage is most of the front and I wanted to be sure the wifi signal reached the outside mounted camera in the front and I could get wifi in the back lanai. with the main and 2 beacons I covered from front outside to rear outside. if you are using only inside house, probably the base and 1 beacon would be fine.

I have the main unit in a closet upstairs and 1 beacon on the main floor and one in the basement centrally located at the mid section of the L. The installation actually help you place the beacons.
