How is this improved from 1st generation? null

The second generation has faster speeds.

2nd generation regular eero has an extra radio for 5 ghz wifi band. Compared to 1st generation which has only one 5 ghz band. Other than that the firmware is the same for both and operate not much differently.

The main difference that I am aware of is the 2nd gen has a new outlet router, and the new hardware on the main router is tri-band
