• You can turn them off and they come with a lens cover to protect your privacy. Yes, you can video chat on your phone, but it is so much nicer on a larger screen. We feel like we can interact a whole lot more with our first grandchild and we can see her so much closer. Very easy to use. I love the Portal line. I have used each of the sizes.
