The 3 is slightly older but has more storage and better Ocular Focal Lenses. It is also faster than the 3s. The 3s was brought into being a more entry level friendly option dumbed down to make it more affordable ( but not terribly so) There is no processing struggle with the 3 like there is and can be with the 3s.
