The mouse goes off after inactivity for an amount of time and comes back on with movement you don't have to turn on and off button on and off all the time

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Should not be an issue with battery life. I have several of these keyboards and the mouse out shuts off when not in use after a set time. So unless you keep bumping the mouse that would make it power back on their should not be a problem. I use my keyboard and mouse at my office for several hours a day and only need to change batteries two to three times a year. Please note I am using my workstation about 8-9 hours a day.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My old model 5000 looks identical to the 5050 I recently purchased. I cannot see any difference. The mouse battery lasted a very long time. It has two AA batteries, but will work with only one. I liked the mouse so much that when the rubber wheel disintegrated I bought a whole new combo (on sale) because I couldn't find the same mouse sold separately. My mouse and keyboard are on 24/7, and I only replaced the batteries once or twice in the past three years. I just hope the rubber mouse wheel holds up longer on the 5050 since I really like the keyboard layout and the size/design of the mouse.
