It was a one time purchase as part of the build. When I bought my new unit from Best Buy, I added the only thing I saw close to what I have on my other unit. 365. It is a download but as you said, an online version. It works OK and opens all my previous documents and PPTs. But it is a subscription service and I will be charged in the future.
