• No, it only bends open about 180 degrees no detachment.

• The screen on Surface Laptop 4 does not detach from the keyboard; however, you can use the Surface Pen to write on the screen.

• I have an older surface 2 that separates but my surface laptop 4 does not. I had to replace the surface 2 as the keyboard would lose its connection and stop working.
