• Sounds like a hard drive issue. Try to boot in BIOS and run a check on your hard drive. Otherwise loading Windows 10 (depending on how you choose to load the operating system) will wipe out your hard drive and you MAY lose all your data.

• Yes this copy of windows will boot and you can even format your hard drive when installing. I used this when installing a new solid sate device as my primary drive.
