Dear Dork1001; Yes, Windows 10 will format and prepare the hard drive, whether used or new, and you'll be up and running. Follow your instructions for installation. It normally takes about 15-30 minutes to install Windows 10. Hopefully, you'll have all your drivers working (sound, video, WiFi) after the installation finishes. Good question.
