I was already a subscriber for 365, but I noticed there was a reference to the free online version when I cranked up the MiniX. As to its differentiation from a reg size desktop, I don't believe I have ever seen a desktop so loaded with features at even twice the price.

That is just the operating system, Office 365 is not included. There is no difference in the user experience between this class of computer and the larger tower style. The main difference is the lack of PCI slots that allow you to customize the system. Looks like it has four M.2 slots, allowing more SSD drives to be added, but you cannot install a video card, capture card, more than two screens, audio cards. Lots of other add-ons are also impossible. One important side effect is that you cannot add a high end video card to speed up AI tasks or assist with video editing and so on. BUT it does have a USB C port. With USB C you can add more displays, more USB ports, more ethernet connections, audio options, just about anything you would normally use today.
