It's soft rubbery feel and won't chip.

My husband and I have three Mophies and have had two of them for about two years now. They are great cases in addition to being wonderfully convenient/efficient for our iPhone 5/5s charging needs. Like most people, both of us have dropped our iPhones more than once and have never had any chipping of any kind. In fact, it's surprising how good they all look after daily use for that amount of time. Check out a current model of Mophie...it has a great look and feel. Best of luck to you.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It feels great in your hand. The back is hard plastic with a bit of a rubber feel to it. The edges are rubber so it grips nicely. I haven't dropped it yet but it's sturdy and feels like it would not crack.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The case is made well and has a good feel. I sure 4 to 6 foot drop onto concrete or asphalt it scratch or mar but probably wouldn't crack. Phone protection is the purpose and this exceeds it
