If your ONLY looking for those features save yourself a couple hundred bucks and get a fitbit type device.. this watch is made to use with your smartphone connected via Bluetooth
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need it for setup purposes, once the watch setup is complete, it will collect the data even if it isnt conected to the phone. However you will still need the phone to upload and/or sync the data for the different services.

Please try again later.No, to get full use of It you will want an Android Phone (running 4.3 Jellybean or newer) or an iPhone (Running iOS 8 or newer) but it can be used as a heart rate monitor out of the box, but updates are done through a phone. I would invest in a good heart rate monitor with chest band if that's all you want to use it for.

Please try again later.I believe the watch needs a smartphone for setup, data upload/download, etc. If you are interested in heart rate and activity monitoring, you would probably be be better off with one of the dedicated devices like a Fitbit which can connect directly to a computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Simply put, yes you need a smartphone. You can get your heart rate stand alone, but w/o the phone there's no tracking. Also the heart rate measuring is no where near as accurate as say a fit bit.
