“I currently have a Moto Play and I love it. However, unlike other phones I have had I am unable to upload photos to my Computer. Has that changed?”

I'm not sure how you were trying to upload the photos from the phone to the computer, but this one has an option to format an added (by you) MiniSD as "Portable", so that you can take it out of the phone and put it into a computer to exchange files. If you set your photos to save to the MiniSD, you should be able to then move them from the MiniSD to your computer.
