“Does this monitor have any other interfaces except from the on-board on and when I'm playing games on the monitor with a display port cable it still drops lower than 100hz I check my settings and it max to 144hz so I'm confused”

Make sure you change your pc settings to 144htz. If you Nvidia, right click on the home screen and click Nivida control panel and through there you can change your htz on your pc. I only know how to do this with Nvidia only though. If you go to your graphics card settings on your pc you’re able to do it from there also.
