I retired my netgear and used this instead. my at&t fiber has built in wifi that I shut off, connected this nest and was good to go. You could do it the way you're suggesting but both wifi signals being on could cause collision
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nest Wifi can form a Wi-Fi mesh only with Nest Wifi and Google Wifi routers/points. If you use Nest Wifi router and Netgear router in the same Wi-Fi network, it creates a Double NAT which may cause connectivity issues when playing online games or port-forwarding. We recommend setting up Nest Wifi router as your primary router wired to the modem with Ethernet cable and then putting the other router in Bridge mode by disabling its Wi-Fi functionality to avoid Double NAT.
