• Yes. This modem only has a single Ethernet output, intended to hook up directly to a computer or (in most cases) a router.

• this is only a modem. must add a router if you have more than 1 appliance

• This modem does have 1 port to link a Ethernet cable to. However if you want to connect multiple devices or reach over Wi-Fi then yes you will need a router. I suggest the Linksys AC1200+ as this is what I purchased and they work great with each other.
