“We have a T Mobile Gateway router and have great coverage in the house and outside to our shop ( approx 75 ft), but when the doors are closed on the shop (metal building) it will not connect to the wifi. Will this boost enough to use in a metal building”

As to metal interrupting the extender signal, I do not know. I use my mesh inside the middle of my single-floor brick home. The HETGEAR EAX20 provides me ample signal.
