It should assuming the main router is wifi6. You want to make sure the technologies max. I spoke to the Geek squad and told them the model of my router and what i was trying to accomplish. Their suggestion was to try this extender first since it was the less expensive option. Foetunately it worked well. We experienced a ten fold increase in internet speed on our family room. The Sony smart tv with Google and a 5.1 soundbar is much more stable now. The setup took longer than expected, however, wifi is one of life's mysteries:)
