Do,you need an outside antennae with this null

Totally depends on your location. I added a cheap pair of "paddle" type antennas and the helped considerably with upload speeds and made download speeds more consistent. I live in a rural area and rarely see more than 1-2 bars on this unit or my iPhone 12. If you typically see 3 or more bars on your phone, likely you would be fine without external antennas, though they might improve upload speeds somewhat.

I have not needed an antenna to use this device. We have occasionally connected it to a separate router to expand the range but primarily use it as a stand alone device. Where there is ATT service, it works very well.
