Yes. If your network runs 5 and 2.4 independently, select your 5g wireless network. If not, you'll need to setup the 2 frequencies separately on your router and then select the 5.

Absolutely it can. I run different devices on 2.4 and on the 5.0. I use the 2.4 for my wifi light bulbs, Hubs, and Echos. The 5.0 for gaming, streaming and 4k Firestick.
