• Wired connection will always be generally faster than wifi. Yes, gigabit wifi speed is dependent on the speed of the wired connection. If wired speed is not gigabit, then wifi will not be gigabit. Wifi speed will only be as fast as the wired speed and most of the time, the wifi speed will be less than the wired connection speed, specially the farther you are away from the wifi router. Having said this though, the nighthawk mesh wifi is excellent compared to other wifi mesh routers I've used.
