“After using for a few hours, devices can not connect. Any device trying to connect gets an error - "Failed to Obtain IP Address". I have to reboot it every 10 - 12 hours for it to work. Netgear Tech support is not much help. Any suggestions?”

Try these ideas. 1. Temporarily drop any firewall you have for about one hour. Such as the firewall in the Norton security suite. 2. Run the WPS setup again with your router per exact directions that came with the extender. 3. Plug in the extender where you want it to live. 4. Wait about 5 minutes for it to boot up. 5. Unplug your router for 1 minute. 6. Power up your router. 7. Logon to your router and look at the client list or device list. 8. You should see the wifi extender defined in the list. 9. If your router is say more than 4 or 5 years old you might need a new one. Not sure. In my case, the extender worked well from day one but the link status light was always red meaning poor connection. Nine days later I noticed the link status changed from solid red to solid white. Meaning the connection went from poor to great. Go figure.

My extender stopped accepting wired internet signal after about 6 months in service! Everything else was working however extender kept blinking; thankfully I had the protection plan so got it replaced and new one’s doing great again.

Please try again later.Have you tried going through your modems/routers network config (usually an ip address or on the bottom of the router/modem) and make sure you set it to a static ip address. I found this to be the easiest method. Try searching in Google "How to check the IP address and set up a Static/specific IP address" then add your router model number or brand after that. you can also contact your Internet Service Provider if it is their router.

Please try again later.it sounds like the extender is dropping off the network and rebooting allows it to reconnect. my guess is that either the extender is close to being out of range of your primary router, or, you have a device that is creating enough EMF noise to interrupt the signal. For example some wireless phones use the same radio frequency and can mess up wifi signals. Microwave ovens, or, even hair dryers, or space heaters, especially some of the older ones, often emit EMF over a wide range of frequencies and can cause this issue. Look for an appliance near your extender that might be causing an issue.
