Doubt it, package says 10,000 sq feet. Solves problem in my 4,000 sq foot 3 story. My old iPhone 3 is 1 WiFi downstairs and on the patio. Using the 2G network on the extender it is now 3 WiFi downstairs and on patio. This is impressive. So the combo system appears the way to go. If you have the Xfinity Arris router you can also buy their 3 pack mifi extenders and plug them in the wall throughout you house, so if he lived next door, probably but not 1/8 mile away.
