Has anyone used this router as an access point? null

I have. it worked just fine, but you are limited on your settings when you use it as an AP

Yes, very fast. It has both a 2.4 and a 5 Gz band, so, theoretically, and can do full wi-fi AC speeds if your device supports it. You can also access the wi-fi with pokey first gen devices.
