5 GHz probably works better for video streaming to a TV but some devices still require a 2.4 GHz connection like Ring cameras and doorbells.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If I understand from my internet installers, the 5g offers the best display, but the range is not as long as the 2.4g. In other wprds,in a large house the 5g would be useed in the area where you want the best display. If you want to take your tablet or laptop outside (or further away from the actual source) then the 2.4g would work better because is covers a larger range. So in my case I have the TV in the room I want the best picture set at the 5g. Every othet TV in the house or outdoors I use the regular 2.4g. I get excellent display on both the 5g & 2.4g. It makes sense to me, so hope I have interpreted it correctly and have explained it correctly.
