I would think you could put the Orbi satelite unit in the garage and it should work fine

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the exact same problem, my garage is detached and about 70 feet from my router. The guy at Best Buy sold me on the Orbi. I installed the satellite in a wall outlet in the garage and it worked perfect. You might need to get a modem when you replace that Comcast (junk) setup. Bonus, the Orbi is very easy to set up and sync. Good luck.
