No the oribi can only work with the router orbi because the satellite works off 3 bands so it's a slave to the router orbi.

You can use the Orbi router and one satellite as an access point by putting the Orbi router in AP mode. The router also has 3 ethernet ports and the satellite 4 ethernet ports as well. You turn off the wireless single on the Nighthawk router and let your Orbi provide all the network access. The Nighthawk would still perform all the routing functions and port forwarding etc.
