Yes this is the one you need. Make sure you get the Satellite. It works great to extend wifi through the entire house..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Adding the RBS50 Orbi Satellite to your RBR50 Orbi router will add approximately 2,500 sq. ft. to your network. It connects wirelessly to your router via the Tri-Band WiFi mesh network with no cables required. Instructions begin on page 12 of the User Manual: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rbk50.aspx?cid=wmt_netgear_organic#docs
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are at least two parts for the Orbi to function properly. 1. The Orbi router must be plugged into the internet router from your provider by using the Ethernet cable that comes with the Orbi router. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the yellow socket on the Orbi router and the other end into your router from your provider. Turn power on and let it sync through the color syncing process until it is synced. Then place the Orbi Satellite at least 50-100 ft from the Orbi router up to 3000 ft. Plug in and turn on and let is sync with the Orbi router. It should give you as high speed as attached directly to the provider router. If not move to a different location or different floor. Some spots block signals and lowers the speed. Just check with Speedtest.net to test. I found the best places and bought and additional Satellite and now I get 200-350 Mbps. It fluctuates sometimes but corrects itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the new satellite to expand my current Orbi system. I had the base and one satellite. I added the additional Satellite to pick up coverage in another part of the house and it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is all you need. It's pretty straight forward, plug in, follow steps to sync with router and you're up and running in 5 minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Orbi should give up to 4000 sq. ft. of signal. We needed this to go thru the block wall to connect to our Wi-Fi pool equipment that was not picking up a strong enough signal to operate. It picks up the Wi-Fi from the existing Orbi modem and expands from there. You will want to put this in between the main Orbi Wi-Fi and the area you are trying to receive better signal and not cross the expander satellite that comes with the original home set. JJ
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works just like your other Orbi satellite. Plug it in and it will sync with the main router host wirelessly. If your firmware on your Orbi routers is updated, they will daisy chain with each other. Look up Orbi daisy chain on Netgear for more information about satellite placement. It does not have to be connected via ethernet, it uses dedicated wireless channels to bridge them together.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi David, If you already have an Orbi base station and sattelite and want to add this as an additional satellite, it is super easy. If I remember correctly you put the base station in search mode for a new sattelite and power up the new sattelite and they find each other and boom you are done. I am sure this is what you need and it will work great for you. Good luck. Phil
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Add On Satellite RBS50 syncs with the Orbi router directly. It is a flawless process from my experience. It should be easy to install using the Orbi App.
