If you are connecting to Google WiFi G, then yes. If you are connecting at N or AC then it would be about the same. . It gives you wired performance with less latency typically than WiFi B or G.

We have had the two PS4s online gaming and streaming on our smart tv with no latency or lag. You current connection is like being over wifi in the sense if your wi-fi connection lags or drops out, your connection will do the same.
