“I bought a night owl AHD7 841 and will only be checking it at home- not by phone or over the internet. The tutorial shows I need a router so without that, how do I hook it up for home use only? Auto program uses router.”

This is where these cameras are lame...you won't be able to use all of its functions unless you connect to a router/modem at some point in time.

Please try again later.Good afternoon, To better use the full Remote viewing features of the DVR it will need a working internet connection and a router to hardwire the DVR unit with the blue Ethernet cable included in the package.
