this to me is intrusive and forces app downloads.. the bluetooth i guess is their way to authorize.. plus it automatically unlocks your dvr if you are close to the dvr with your phone

It is asking for Bluetooth permission to allow you to use some of the systems advanced features such as Easy Bluetooth Wireless Setup and the very convenient ability to unlock your recorder right from the app. However, allowing Bluetooth access is not mandatory.
