• To answer your question yes. The motion can be turned off in the app so you dont get a notification every single time. The device can still record when motion is detected.

• Yes. They record all motion. But don't worry about your hard drive getting filled up with dog movies. It keeps the most recent videos and records over the previously recorded videos.
