The D500 uses DX lens and the lens can be used on Z cameras with a converter. Any Nikon compatibility can be found on their website.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! The D500 because of its DX censor will make the lens become a 300-750mm advantage especially with wildlife photography and sports. I use this lens on my D500 to capture birds with results I can’t get otherwise. I also used it when photographing lawn bowlers as I wasn’t allowed by club rules to be standing on the greens. I got great action shots. I’ve used it on my Z6, too, and the colors are amazing. You can easily enjoy awesome bokeh because of the telescoping effect. The only downside is it’s weight. I often attach it to a monopod and carry it by he lens, not the camera. No problems so far!
