Many cell phones have only 12 megapixel cameras, this camera is 16 megapixels. Few phones have optical zoom and rely only digital zoom. this camera does 40x optical zoom and you can turn digital zoom completely off to eliminate the introduction of artifact flaws.. Optical is superior because you still have a TRUE 16 megapixel image.
