Yes. This camera has a macro mode feature for shooting close up images of food, jewelry or any other small subjects. This feature can be turned off when you aren't using it. When turned on it allows the camera to focus on the subject as close as approximately 1 cm (0.4 inches) from the lens to capture the tiniest of details flawlessly.

It is a Scene mode on the camera called FOOD mode The camera will automatically adjust the lens position as well set the itself to Macro doe. When in Macro mode itcan focus as close as 0.4 inches from the subject. It is an excellent choice for photographing food close up.
