If you follow directions and recommendations from Nija, this a great cooker. I have the AG302 and use it almost every day. Yes I bake cakes, cookies, Texas toast, potatoes.. People with smoke problems ignore the recommendations from Shark/Nija. USE a high temp oil. not olive oil etc..

Don’t know the answer to the baking but ours will open sitting on counter underneath our cabinets however it puts out so much heat I would not recommend it. I do not recommend this appliance at all. It puts out too much unseen smoke and sets off the smoke alarms and smells up the house.
