You do not need to get a subscription to use Nixplay frames. All Nixplay frames come with free 10 GB of Nixplay cloud storage in addition to the 8 GB storage on Nixplay frames. Users can choose to join Nixplay Plus membership to get upto 50 GB of Nixplay cloud storage as well as other benefits such as up to 80% discounts on Nixplay Prints, longer video playback and extended warranty.

There is an option to pay for upgrades which allows for longer video clips and more storage (along with additional frame discounts, etc). I just use it for photos and it’s great!
