Absolutely! It's all about how many pulses you choose to do. Experiment with the time frame of holding it down, maybe 20-30 second pulses for 4 times or so...it's all about fooling around with it until you've figured out what is called for, as each recipe requires different timing...you'll get to the point where you're doing it without thinking if you're making some of your favs. You'll easily achieve the desired texture. I've made icy-frosty fruit drinks mainly times, but mainly veggie drinks that have included kale, spinach, walnuts, almonds, avocado, coconut, carrots...I make homemade almond milk (the store-bought is full of gross ingredients, whereas homemade is basically almonds) I'm constantly tossing in all manner of ingredients to experiment with textures and different foods...always seeds and nuts...and different nut milks and veggies. It comes with a little recipe book to give you some ideas and there are a lot of recipes online to tempt your appetite...some combinations that you might not have thought of! It'll smoothly puree truly ANYthing! P.S. Not only does Best Buy price match the blender, but I found this set of cups on Amazon for approx. $13, so they matched that price as well! It was handy to have a couple of more cups for others in the house to be able to make their drinks at the same time if we were heading out the door together. Just pop on the tops and you're out the door with the most awesome meals! Cheers!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello RawVegan, We would like you to know that the Ninja® Pro Table Top Blender is great for making smoothies. With this being said, we recommend that you follow these loading instructions when putting the ingredients into the cup. First, put in fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, dry ingredients (powders, seeds, nuts), frozen ingredients (fruit, vegetables, or ice), and then add the liquid last. We hope this information helps.
