Q: QuestionI heard from a friend that works for new egg that Nvidia is reprocessing a boat load of 2080tis and is planning a retool to start shipping the RTX 3080 in a few weeks or so. There is a surplus of 2080s and they can use some of the components for new RTXs

Q: QuestionMy son is impatiently waiting for rtx 3080 to complete the computer he recently built. Is it possible to pre-order this item so he would be assured to get it. Apparently it's a hot item and online sellers are taking advantage of customers. Thank you.

• A:Answer Honestly, build a bot or just wait for steady stock. You could also put your name on a waiting list with EVGA, but I've been on there since they announced that system, and have yet to receive an alert or email about it. Been about 4 or 5 months.

• A:Answer That CPU would probably be fine up to a 3070. For a 3080 I would recommend a 5600x at least.

Q: QuestionDoes the RTX 3080 have the connector pin as the GTX 970 I need something powerful enough to support the valve index, I know I'm way past due for an upgrade to my Graphics card 2014 vs 2021

• A:Answer Depends on what you mean by "connector pin." It has DisplayPort on the back which will work with the Valve Index. If you're talking about the power connectors, it needs two 8-pin PCIe connectors from your power supply. The 970 may only use 6-pin depending on the model, so make sure your PSU is compatible.
