A:AnswerIf you have a computer with a video card better that a gtx1060 or rx570, go for it with the link cable. Wireless will give you a lot of latency and having those video cards or lower will also give you latency with the link. For better pc experience I recommend the Oculus Rift S or Valve Index.
A:AnswerIf you plug in a normal pair of headphones the audio will be stereo in your headphones. With headphones plugged in the built in speakers do not play any sound, only the headphones do. If you are casting to a chrome cast device the audio and video will be sent to the receiver, and you will also get audio through the headphones, or through the internal speakers if no headphones are plugged in. If you are casting I highly recommend using headphones, because there is a slight lag on what is received on chrome cast.
I use regular Bose headphones and it sounds great. And wired headphones will work that have an aux cable. You do not need to buy the special Oculus headphones, that just helps to make it more convenient so the cord doesn’t get in the way.
A:AnswerVRchat is available on the oculus quest store so you can play that completely untethered. It will work with Steam games and Rift games via Oculus Link if you have a VR ready computer and you will have to buy a long USB 3.0 cable to connect your headset. Oculus Link is available now and is in beta stage, but I have found it works really well.
I play lots of steam and Rift games and it handles them really well.
I would recommend that any game that you can get on the Oculus Quest store to get it there instead of Steam or the Rift, just so you can still play untethered and portable. But any game that isn’t available there you can still play, as long as that game supports the Oculus Rift (some steam vr games don’t, although most do).

Each game can range to about 3GB each, some less, some more. Just depends on how many games you want to install at a time. If purchased, they stay in your library and can always be re-downloaded later
