• No, phone required or able to connect to the rift. If your laptop is a gaming pc with vr-ready specs; you can open the rift with the installed software. Make sure your laptop has a minimum of I-5 processor and nivida 1060 with GDR5 and 8gb dedicated memory.

• No phone is necessary, you will need to make sure your desktop/laptop video card is powerful enough to run the application. Go to www.oculus.com and check the minimum required specs. There is even a diagnostic tool that will check your PC to tell you whether or not it is compatible.
